What Am I? (2)

I am the end of the story
The beginning of the end
The guilt in the morning
That you can’t comprehend

I am the grayest of dawns
After a harrowing night
The punishment for wrongs
That you did not incite

I am the plate forever empty
The drought of the mind
The head that wavers heavy
Under the freezing draft inside

Trade your sorrows in for sleep
And pray to never wake
To all the demons that repeat
The routine for Hade’s sake

Now the relief of God’s embrace
Is sold for one faint smile
And when you meet me face-to-face
There will be nothing but denial

What am I?

Beauty from Darkness

A personal piece that I have been working on for a while. Beauty from Darkness shows the duality of pain and sadness matched by the potential beauty and revitalization that will arise after the time of trials have ceased in the life of the individual. This piece symbolizes hope for the depressed and downtrodden, a better future.
